After a Windows 10 update is performed, you may be prompted to reinstall Kofax VRS when opening a VRS module (e.g. Administration).

Details

Kofax is aware of Windows updates causing a prompt to reinstall VRS. This is caused by shared application libraries that are modified during the Windows update process. However, there are no current plans for Kofax to resolve this issue, as it is caused by the Windows update and not a Kofax software defect.

This issue has been observed with both Windows 10 and Windows 8 operating systems. Kofax has reported that this issue will be resolved in Kofax Capture 11.0 but it will still impact Kofax Capture 10.2 and older.

The current recommended solution to this issue is to reinstall Kofax VRS after the Windows update has been completed. If a major Windows update needs to be performed, verify that you have access to the VRS installation media before updating.

Note: Verify whether an OEM version of VRS has been installed.
